Welcome to Tantrum Foods! We are the Maturos.  Mario, Tamara, Quinn and Reese.  This is a celebration of what has become over the years, our daily focus.  Gluten free food and products in every aspect of our life.  Tantrum Foods is your one-stop shop for a flavor-full healthy lifestyle of gluten free recipes, restaurants, products, wellness, mocktails and even pet food.  Our site is full of yummy gluten free meals and products that will help you eat well and navigate the world of gluten free simply, even when you travel.  What makes it different?  Our youngest, our 14-year-old daughter, comes up with the meal plan, does the grocery shopping with me and cooks all of our meals.  She loves cooking and baking, making it her personal mission to make sure that everything we eat is clean, simple food that’s easy to make. 

 

How did we get here?  Well, it wasn’t easy.  I always planned on feeding my family, with whole, minimally processed foods but despite all my meal planning for the week and positive affirmations in the morning that I was going to stay calm, the daily plan was often derailed.   Throw food allergies, auto-immune disease and food-driven anxiety in there and every meal became an obstacle course. Our youngest has been gluten free since 6 years old when we had reached the point that she couldn’t eat anything without severe abdominal pains after every meal. Our oldest was diagnosed at the age of 14 with Celiac Disease.  Me, well … I am gluten intolerant and most likely provided the Celiac gene to our kids, but I will never know because it’s WAY too uncomfortable and painful to eat gluten, which I would need to do to be tested.  So, we are all now, finally, happily gluten free.
